Join us every Thursday on the farm for some fun in the garden with your preschooler while practicing early reading skills!
About this Event

Have fun on the farm and in the garden with your preschooler while practicing early reading skills!

This 1 hour class is designed for emergent readers ages 3 – 5 years and builds connections between the five senses, caring for farm animals, planting and growing food, pollinators, bugs, farm machines, and more with early literacy components (reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, and visualization).

Each class will begin with a song/story/activity component indoors and continue with a trip to the garden or farmyard.

This is a fun, age-appropriate class with lots of hands-on activities for a child/caregiver team paired with the best in children’s literature.

FAQs

Is admission to the farm include in the price of the ticket?

YES! After each class, you are welcome to continue to explore the farm with your preschooler. The farm is open Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, Wednesdays from 9am to 8pm and Saturdays 9 am to 3pm.

What should we wear?

Sunscreen, hat and reusable water bottle are reccomended. We are a working farm and ask that visitors wear close toed shoes.

POLICIES

• Programs run rain or shine. Dress for the weather if your program takes you outside!
• No ticket refunds within 1 week of the program except in the case of Gorman Heritage Farm cancelling the program.
• If you suspect you may be coming down with a transmissible illness, we require you to stay home to help keep others healthy. Thank you!
