About this Event
Come meet some of your favorite authors of fiction, politics, history, poetry, children's literature, mystery, memoir and more at the 13th annual Literary Hill BookFest, a beloved celebration of books and authors on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
This year, we'll feature more than 40 authors, booksellers, publishers, literacy groups and others, including acclaimed national bestselling novelist Louis Bayard, author of The Pale Blue Eye, a mystery thriller adapted into the hit Netflix film starring Christian Bale. Other featured authors include debut novelist and former spy I.S. Berry; National Book Award Finalist and former editor-in-chief of Book World Marie Arana; acclaimed author James Grady, whose novel Six Days of the Condor was famously adapted into the Robert Redford film Three Days of the Condor; beloved author, trailblazer and Smithsonian Ambassador Christine Platt, and many more. Visitors will meet authors face-to-face, enjoy panel discussions on of-the-moment topics, partake in a full slate of family-friendly activities in our bustling Children's Corner, and even debut their own verse at our popular poetry open mic immediately following the main event, where estabished and aspiring poets will entertain an enthusiastic crowd.
The BookFest is completely free and open to the public.
