Bristol Pride and Lyra Festival team up to offer an evening of poetry cabaret as drag artists and poets take the stage to queer the canon through recorded poetry and performance.Hostd by: Tom Marshman and Bristol City Poet Caleb Parkin,
Featuring performances from: Carmen Monoxide, Oliver Assets and Roseanne Anderson.

LGBTQ+ performers select recorded poems from archives to lip-sync to, adding their own spin to the text and voice. Rudyard Kipling’s ‘If’ gets the camping up it surely needs, while Shakespeare’s codpiece goes rogue. Expect the teasing out of queer subtexts: those poems you were made to learn in school, but out on the town with a bit of slap on. Followed by a DJ set and tunes til late.

ROSEANNA ANDERSON is a dancer, choreographer and director, working as an independent artist and co-director of Impermanence, a Bristol-based dance theatre company. Impermanence are resident company at The Mount Without and in early 2022, Roseanna performed as an actor and dancer in the Bristol Old Vic production of Dr Semmelweis, starring Mark Rylance.
RED (Carmen Monoxide). Phresh out of the other realm comes Red, a singer-producer who breathes sultry and satire into her performance.
OLIVER ASSETS. Co-producer of the South West's premier drag king cabaret night Brizzle Boyz and local community cabaret night SCRiTCH Cabaret, Oliver Assets is a non-binary Bristol based drag king. Described as "the master of a million miserable faces", Oliver's performance style is deadpan and theatrical with a sprinkle of satirical politics thrown in for good measure. He's stormed across stages in both the UK and the US and was once voted one of the Top 25 Drag Kings in the World!
