Listos para el museo: Candle Decorating

Families with children 6 and younger are invited to decorate candle holders - the perfect decor for your home ofrenda. We will be using a decoupage method and decorate the holders with papel picado-inspired designs. This workshop is inspired by Where Memory Lives: 40 Years of Día de Muertos.

About the Teaching Artist:
Nancy Alvarado Rosas has been a graphic designer since 2013 and has developed her creative career in education using various disciplines. Her current preferred media include digital illustration, acrylic paint, and visual journals. Since joining NMMA’s Education team, she has taught art, journaling, and design workshops to children and their parents, using Mexican culture as a backdrop and inspiration. Nancy also owns and directs Letterkey, a stationery and lifestyle shop created to inspire organization and creativity.
Se invita a las familias con niños de 6 años o menos a decorar portavelas, un elemento decorativo perfecto para la ofrenda de su hogar. Utilizaremos la técnica de decoupage y decoraremos los portavelas con diseños inspirados en el papel picado. Este taller está inspirado en la exposición Where Memory Lives: 40 Years of Día de Muertos.
