About this Event
In association with Working On & Out Things: Selections from the , on view through January 26th, NYU Special Collections and the Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media present four listening sessions in the Feldstein Immersion Room, during which Dixon scholars and collaborators will present recordings mined from the extensive holdings of the Bill Dixon Papers.
Each session will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Avery Fisher Center's Feldstein Immersion Room, Bobst Library, 70 Washington Square South, Seventh Floor. Space is limited, so please RSVP to secure your seat.

Hosted by Ben Young with special guest Leopanar Witlarge. Witlarge participated in the 1968 recordings of the University of the Streets Orchestra overseen by Dixon, based at the original East Village location of the University of the Streets.

Working On & Out Things: Selections from the Bill Dixon Papers, is on view in the Special Collections Gallery (Bobst Library, 2nd Floor) from October 7 - January 26, 2026. NYU community members can visit the exhibition during our hours of operation. Members of the public should coordinate their visit by reaching out to NYU Special Collections.
