Listening Party | Chris Jones, Owen McCloskey, and Matias Malagardis

Chris Jones is from a small town in New York called Hastings-on-Hudson. He discovered music through the niche DIY scene in Westchester and played in punk bands all over the East Coast from 2009 to the present. He was a part of the scene in upstate New York for many years before moving to Philadelphia, where he worked as a visual art teacher. Chris now resides in Brooklyn where he continues to play in bands and write songs. Chris plays under the name Chris Sunshine, an ever evolving project that combines disparate genres like post-hardcore, shoegaze and electronica into an eclectic blend.

Owen McCloskey is a piano player, producer, and singer-songwriter from Bergenfield, NJ, right outside of New York City. Owen specializes in creating hip hop, RnB, neo-soul, EDM, and pop music. Owen has been playing piano since the age of 5 and started learning jazz on his own at 14. Owen started teaching himself music production at age 21. After getting a marketing degree, Owen went back to school to learn music production at BerkleeNYC.

Madrid-born Matias Malagardis is a songwriter/producer currently based in New York, USA. In the past he has collaborated with numerous artists in Europe, as well as releasing his own music as an artist. His sound is constantly developing, with references that go from artists such as Jack Johnson or Ben Howard to James Blake or Dominic Fike.
