One of Buffalo’s leading musicians, winner of the 2025 JazzBuffalo poll for best pianist, Lisa Hasselback presents her original music from her new album as well as her dynamic interpretations of standards. With an all-star group of John Hasselback, Jr. (trombone), Orchard Park’s own Paul LaDuca (bass), and John Bacon (drums). Suggested donation: $20 (no one turned away for lack of funds)Texas native Lisa Hasselback has been a pianist in the Buffalo area since 1988. She has performed with artists including Bob Newhart, Houston Person, John Pizzarelli, The New York Voices, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Aretha Franklin, and has appeared with the BPO Pops for over a decade. After retiring from a 30-year career as an elementary music teacher, she has been featured on Jazz Scene Buffalo (WBBZ-TV), released a solo album of original music, and performed at Smalls in New York City and the Rochester Jazz Festival. Recent collaborators include Gary Smulyan, Joe Magnarelli, Virginia MacDonald, Jon Gordon, and Dick Oatts.
