LIPS THURSDAYS X's The Cobalt

After a HUGE opening night, we are back with our next Thursday at the Cobalt!! It's love month, so come feel alllllllllll the love surrounded by our beautiful community on February 9th! ❤️

The Cobalt is an ICONIC Vancouver venue with a longstanding queer history. Known in our community as Vancouver's unofficial official lesbian bar! After being closed for a handful of years, they have reopened and LIPS got in there at just the right moment!

Our Thursdays:

-Burlesque showcases throughout the night by LEXXX & Holly Graphic!

-DJ dance party with the sweet tunes of DJ Denise!

-A private, ticketed event just for us!

-No clique-y-ness!! We pride ourselves on facilitating a space that is kind, welcoming and a super fun time! The rumour is that this city is cold and clique-y...not us baby!!

Tickets go on sale Monday, Jan 23rd at 12pm!! If we do NOT sell out online, we will have door tickets for $35! (ps, we sold out last time!!)

LIPS lesbian nights were created with the intention of community building. We are a queer women focused space that has been growing and evolving. We strive for a variety of events geared to different age groups and interests. We are just getting started, so we thank you for being here and coming on this wild ride with us. Ticket money not only helps us continue, but provides paid opportunities for local queer artists, our tiny team of staff "TEAM LIPS" and members of our community in need of mutual aid.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We want to acknowledge that we create and run events on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and we also know that it isn’t enough to just speak those words. The way that we can take action is to always provide opportunities for BIPOC artists, DJs, dancers, and members of our staff. We have a growing roster of amazingly talented, diverse artists that you will meet over the coming months.

The best thing that we can do is allocate portions of profit to the groups that are doing amazing work as well as those in need of Mutual Aid. Starting this month, we will be donating monthly to different groups and individuals. A portion of ticket sales from all February events will go to the Vancouver Black Therapy Fund. We have also added links to resources on our linktree and will continue to update those resources. We would love for you to share the content that you learn from as well.
