Promoting A Modern Education While Preserving Traditional Buddhist Values - Endorsed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama
The Ngari Institute of Buddhist Dialectics is a multi-purpose center situated in Ladakh, the northernmost region of India. Overlooking Saboo Village and near the regional capital, Leh, the Institute occupies 20 hectares of mountainous Himalayan terrain. In this remote area, many villages face resource scarcity, daily struggles, and limited educational opportunities.
Endorsed by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in 2008 and personally inaugurated by him in 2016, the Institute aims to enrich the lives of local children. The Institute offers educational opportunities that blend modern learning with ancient Buddhist wisdom, a tradition that has been part of the region for over 1,000 years.
The Ngari Institute provides housing, educational support and a nurturing environment for children from economically disadvantaged families, single-parent households, or those who are orphaned. It also supports novice monks and any family in demonstrated need.
Visit NgariFoundation.org for more details about the Ngari Institute.
Registration is not required, but donations are gratefully accepted. There are two donation options associated with this event. The "Donation for LRDC" option goes towards supporting Lion’s Roar Dharma Center in hosting this and other events. The "Donation for Ngari Institute Monks" goes directly to the monks leading the event.
