Join us Saturday, June 4 from 1-4 p.m. at the Lions Gate Community Recreation Centre opening celebration event! There will be an opening ceremony from 1-2pm, followed by entertainment, food trucks, tours, games, arts & crafts, sports and storytime from 2-4pm.
Come check out this amazing new centre which features:
• Full-sized gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, badminton and pickleball
• Multi-purpose spaces for social, recreational and cultural activities
• Art studio
• Express library operated by North Vancouver District Public Library
• Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) operated by Capilano Community Services
• Community gathering spaces and kitchen
• District of North Vancouver public plaza with playground, water park, and outdoor stage & seating
You are encouraged to walk, bike, roll or take transit to this event. Limited free underground parking off Fullerton Avenue with additional parking in the Capilano Rugby Club gravel field at Klahanie Park.
We are aiming to be a zero waste event – please bring a reusable mug or water bottle.
This event is hosted by the centre partners: Capilano Community Services Society, District of North Vancouver, North Vancouver District Public Library and North Vancouver Recreation & Culture.
