Synopsis:
Lionel Bart’s Oliver! Brings Dickens’ Oliver Twist vividly to life in this Tony, Olivier, and Academy Award–winning musical. In Victorian England, young Oliver escapes a harsh workhouse and falls in with Fagin’s band of pickpockets. After being wrongfully accused of theft, he’s taken in by the kind Mr. Brownlow, prompting Fagin, Bill Sikes, and the conflicted Nancy to try to reclaim him, jeopardizing his chance at a real family. Oliver! Remains a beloved musical theatre classic, showcasing a vibrant ensemble and an unforgettable score.
Since 1927, Bakersfield Community Theatre has helmed works that encourage diversity and inclusivity, promoted local artists, and focused on the community aspects of theatre.
