Linton Pocket Park is a much-loved, popular, tranquil wild space, a haven for wildlife of many kinds. But just how many, and are there any rare species we should be doing more to protect? This is why we have chosen to run a Bioblitz.A Bioblitz is a biological survey of a particular area over a specific time frame, usually 24hrs. We've given ourselves a bit longer to allow as many people as possible the opportunity to join in the fun.
Activities will be confirmed nearer the time but we hope to include a few evening and daytime attractions:
Bat walks
Small mammal trapping
Moth trapping
Riverfly sampling
Expert-led ID sessions looking for various invertebrates, birds, grasses, flowering plants, mosses, lichens etc.
Artist-led field-sketching session for all ages
No matter your level of expertise please do come along to join in some fantastic citizen science!
