This workshop is aimed at both beginners and improvers (dancers with less than a year of experience and those who want to work on improving their technique) and will include a deep dive on swingout technique, variations, and some new Lindy Hop moves.The workshop will take place at:
St Mathews Church,11 Summerhill St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 6EJ
Classes will be run by Swing Tyne teachers.
No dance partner is required as we will rotate partners, however a balance of leads and followers is needed so there may be a wait list until an opposite role is booked. If you and your partner would prefer only to dance with each other, then please sign up as usual and let a teacher know.
The cost of this event will be £15 per person (£7.50 for concessions).
There will be up to 4 hours of classes with regular breaks for water and lunch.
Timetable:
10:30-12:30 – Lesson 1
12:30-13:30 – Lunch break
13:30-15:30 – Lesson 2
Please bring a water bottle and appropriate footwear. Swingouts involve turning so try to avoid footwear with a lot of grip.
Concessions prices are for those on low or no income. We ask that if you are able to afford the standard price ticket then please purchase one. We are a not for profit charity so every £ is used for our dancing community.
