Lindy and Vaughan are specialist artists in the field of glass sculptures, stained glass design, fabrication and installations and in recent years also painted glass walls.
They started their business ‘ART GLASS DESIGN’ 50 years ago. Their work appears in many churches and public buildings as well as hundreds of private residences. They have received several awards including an ISSI Overseas Fellowship.

Exhibition Information:
Gathering of Fragments brings together a diverse collection of contemporary mosaic works that explore memory, place, transformation, and connection through the language of broken and reassembled materials. Presented at Pepper Street Arts Centre in September, this exhibition celebrates the mosaic as both an ancient artform and a vibrant contemporary practice.
Each artwork begins with fragments — pieces of ceramic, glass, stone, found objects, and discarded materials — gathered, shaped, and brought into new relationships. Through careful placement and composition, these fragments are transformed into works that speak of resilience, renewal, and the beauty found in imperfection. The exhibition invites viewers to consider how individual pieces, seemingly incomplete on their own, can become part of something layered, meaningful, and whole.
The artists featured in Gathering of Fragments draw inspiration from personal histories, natural landscapes, urban textures, and the rhythms of everyday life. Some works evoke intimate stories and emotional landscapes, while others celebrate colour, pattern, and material experimentation. Together, they reveal the versatility of mosaic as a medium capable of both quiet reflection and bold visual expression.
At its heart, the exhibition reflects on the act of gathering itself — collecting memories, experiences, and remnants of the past, and reshaping them into new narratives. In a world often marked by fragmentation and change, these mosaics offer moments of contemplation, connection, and reconstruction.
Gathering of Fragments invites visitors to slow down and look closely: to notice texture, detail, and the spaces between pieces; to discover how broken elements can create unexpected harmony; and to experience the enduring power of art to assemble beauty from what has been scattered.
