Based in Wigan—tucked between two musical powerhouses, Liverpool and Manchester—Lindsey Holding captivates audiences with soulful, emotionally rich performances and story-driven songwriting.
Starting out in her teens she’s enjoyed performing across the UK with various bands, she found her solo voice in her late twenties, drawing not only from personal experience but also from the world around her—turning both inner reflections and keen
observations into heartfelt, relatable songs.
Now a seasoned artist, Lindsey performs both solo and has enjoyed collaborative setups -
weaving together music, poetry, and spoken word alongside a vibrant community of creatives.
She continues to be supportive of other emerging and returning artists, nurturing the scene she
calls home.
Her original songs like Rip Up the Distance and Ghostwriting explore themes of love, loss,
growth, sleepless nights, and wild weekends—with raw honesty and lyrical nuance that leaves
audiences spellbound.
• “Lindsey has a unique stage presence as her songs captivate you with personal stories
of subtle substance.” John Winstanley, Devel Creatives
• “Lindsey held us in thrall at Rhyme Time with her mesmerizing music and intimate word play.
A most honest and joyful artist.” Tony Curry, Rhyme Time at The Carlton Club,
Manchester
• “…a performer who puts her heart and soul into her songwriting and delivers with style.
Confident, professional, accomplished and a real crowd pleaser.” Dave Morgan, Bolton
Socialist Club
• “...Lindsey is also fairly local and gave another very enjoyable set and grew throughout it.
Check Lindsey's work out: she has a lovely voice.” Tony Birch, FATEA (after supporting
John Reed at Prohibition Recordings, Liverpool)
• “…her first time at Busker’s Ball, out of the Wigan area…the very talented Lindsey
Holding, she did about 4 or 5 original songs and she held the audience, so... hope to see
her again.” Alec Martin, Musician, Author & Host “Anybody got a capo?” Show, Blues
Radio, UK
Reviews - Narrowboat Session:
Folk North West review - click for page here
"Recorded live on the Narrowboat Sessions in July 2024, this is a three-song taster EP from
Wigan based artist Lindsey Holding. To refer to her simply as a singer songwriter would be a lazy
label to apply.
Perhaps she can best be described as offering emotionally intelligent Indie folk.
Eschewing traditional folk themes, the songs reflect on relationships from various points of view, both on the inside and from that of an invested observer. There’s a fragile edge to her vocals that add character to her delivery and interest to the listening. If this is intended as a taste of things to come, then it has worked, as we have been left hungry for more!" Damian Liptrot, Folk North West
