Linda Kuriloff is Still Trying to Piece Together a Solo Comedy Show

Hey there!

It’s me, Linda.  I'm reaching out to connect and catch you up on what's been going on with me.  First, in case you don’t know…back in February of 2024, I was chosen as a semi-finalist in Sherri Shepherd’s, Funny Over 50!  It was an amazing experience and as much a shock to me as anyone else (I’m a trained actor)!

Second, an unexpected event came at the end of the year:  On December 14, 2024, my husband of 20 years died after a bout with cancer.  

As you can imagine, I didn’t feel like performing for a while, even though I had been working on writing jokes before my husband's health took a sudden sharp turn for the worse.  My thoughts haven't been much on comedy lately, but I thought coming together with my community to share some laughs (and maybe tears) might just be "what the doctor ordered".  I’m not sure how much comedy material will come out of it, but something tells me, it’ll help just being together and remembering there are always reasons to smile. 

In 2023, I told God I wanted to put more energy into standup comedy writing since that's something I can do on my own terms (I only do family-friendly stuff) even while working a day job.  Then in 2024, I was chosen as a semi-finalist in a national comedy contest that had hundreds of national submissions!  God definitely has a way of surprising us.

During my husband's funeral, I got a chance to address the guests and there was definitely a healing aspect to it and making myself do it more might be the baby steps I need to lead me back onstage.
