Lincs Film Club - 'Brassed Off' Screening

Join us for a special screening of Brassed Off, the much-loved British film that brings together music, community and the struggles of a mining town facing an uncertain future.

Set in the fictional Yorkshire town of Grimley, the film follows a colliery brass band fighting to keep its traditions alive as the local pit faces closure. With the future of the mine threatening the livelihoods, families and identity of the entire community, the band becomes a powerful symbol of hope, resilience and working-class solidarity.

Starring Pete Postlethwaite, Ewan McGregor and Tara Fitzgerald, Brassed Off is a funny, moving and ultimately uplifting story about the people and communities behind Britain's industrial heritage.

Special Guest: Steve Abbott, Producer of Brassed Off

Following the screening, we'll be joined by the film's producer, Steve Abbott, for a special Q&A. This is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand about the making of the film, the stories behind its production and the experience of bringing such an enduring British story to the screen.

Whether you're a lifelong fan of the film, passionate about British cinema or interested in the heritage of our industrial communities, this is an opportunity to experience Brassed Off on the big screen and explore its legacy with someone who helped bring it to life.
