YOUNG ARTISTS SUMMER CAMP 2026: SUMMER OF RESILIENCE!

JUNE 29 - AUGUST 1 (5 WEEKS)

Daily Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 2:00 pm and Field Trip Wednesdays as per schedule below

Welcome to the Lincoln Heights Youth Art Center Summer Camp 2026 — a fun, creative, and inspiring space for young artists ages 6–13 who want to spend the summer immersed in the visual and performing arts! Our summer camp runs from June 29 through August 1 and gives kids the chance to explore the arts, make new friends, build confidence, and have an unforgettable summer.

This year’s theme is “Summer of Resilience,” inspired by Tupac Shakur’s poem “A Rose That Grew From Concrete.” The theme reminds us that even in difficult situations, young people can grow, thrive, and shine through creativity, community, and self-expression.

At Lincoln Heights Youth Art Center, we believe every child is creative and deserves a place where they feel seen, supported, and encouraged. Campers will get hands-on experience in a variety of exciting multidisciplinary arts classes and activities:

Theater Arts – Acting games, storytelling, improv, and performances that help students build confidence and teamwork skills.

Visual Arts – Drawing, painting, sculpture, and creative projects that let imaginations run wild.

Dance – High-energy movement classes that encourage expression, coordination, and fun.

Rhythm Lab – Rhythm, singing, instruments, and music activities that inspire creativity and joy.

Son Jarocho Music and Dance - Son Jarocho is a traditional Mexican folk music and dance art form from Veracruz that combines live music, singing, rhythm, storytelling, and movement.

Shadow Puppetry - Shadow Puppetry is a visual storytelling art form where light, movement, and handmade puppets inspired by the natural world are used to bring stories and imagination to life.

In addition to daily arts programming, campers will also enjoy exciting field trips throughout the summer. These trips are designed to be a mix of fun, arts-based, and educational experiences, giving students opportunities to explore museums, theaters, cultural spaces, performances, and other community destinations across Los Angeles.

Our caring and experienced teaching artists create a positive environment where students can learn, express themselves, and try new things. Each week, campers will work together on creative projects and performances to share what they’ve learned with family and friends at our culminating student production.

Whether your child already loves the arts or is just discovering their creativity, this camp is a welcoming place for them to grow, connect, and have fun all summer long.

We can’t wait to create with you this summer at the Lincoln Heights Youth Art Center!
