About this Event

LIME CORDIALE

Lime Cordiale is an Australian band formed by brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach. The band’s music is known for their infectious melodies, catchy hooks, and clever lyrics that resonate with fans across the globe. Their formal music training and prodigious talent allow them to mix various genres such as indie pop, rock, funk, and reggae into a unique style which has gained a significant following in Australia as well as garnering international attention.

The Leimbach brothers grew up in Sydney, Australia, and were influenced by their musical family background. They began writing and performing music together in their teenage years, eventually forming Lime Cordiale in 2009. The band initially started as a duo, with Oli on vocals and Louis on keyboards, but they later expanded their lineup which now includes long-time collaborator, James Jennings (Drums), Felix Bornholdt (Keys & Piano), and Nick Polovineo (Trombone & Guitar), supplementing Oli’s guitar and vocals, as well as Louis’ bass and lead vocals.

Lime Cordiale released their debut EP “Faceless Cat” in 2012, which received positive reviews and helped them gain attention in the local music scene. Over the next few years, they continued to release more EPs, including “Falling Up the Stairs” (2014), and “Road to Paradise” (2017). These releases showcased the band’s evolving sound and songwriting abilities.

In 2017, Lime Cordiale released their debut album, “Permanent Vacation”, which was well-received by critics and fans alike. The album featured popular tracks such as “Naturally” and “Temper Temper”, which helped the band gain significant radio airplay and expand their fanbase. Lime Cordiale’s live performances also became known for their energetic and engaging stage presence.

Following the success of “Permanent Vacation”, Lime Cordiale embarked on extensive touring, both in Australia and internationally. They performed at various festivals and headlined their own shows, launched their own one-day festival called The Squeeze, all the time building a reputation for their dynamic live shows and growing their fanbase.

In 2019, Lime Cordiale released their second album, “14 Steps to a Better You”. They album was a commercial success, reaching the top of the Australian charts, and earning widespread acclaim. It featured hit singles such as ‘Inappropriate Behaviour’, ‘Robbery’, and ‘Dirt Cheap’, which further solidified the band’s popularity and propelled them to new heights.

Whilst 2020 and 2021 saw their activities inhibited somewhat due to the pandemic, the band did not sit around feeling sorry for themselves, using the time conspiring and laying plans for the biggest tour of their lives.

The band had a stacked 2022 with an ARIA nomination for Best Video for their single ‘Apple Crumble’, headline Australian shows which saw them perform to over 34,000 Australian fans throughout the “14 Steps to a Better You” and “Facts of Life” tours, alongside festival sets at Groovin’ The Moo, NYE in the Park and more.

In January 2022, Lime Cordiale released ‘Cordi Elba’, their acclaimed collaboration with actor/musician/DJ and record label boss Idris Elba. The mini album debuted at #9 on the ARIA album chart, spawning the hit singles ‘Apple Crumble’ and ‘What’s Not To Like’, which landed at #14 and #41 on the triple j hottest 100 respecively. The track ‘Holiday’ which also makes an appearance on the album, was later remixed by the legendary Fatboy Slim. 2022 also saw the release of a trio of singles; ‘Colin’, ‘Country Club’, and ‘Facts of Life’.
