Limbo Social Club will take you back to the iconic days of that first Summer of Love in 1988-1991 & beyond. Expect sounds unheard, sights unseen & magical memories to be created at this strictly limited capacity event that is not to be missed.
From the mile wide smiles to the sea of happy faces & togetherness family kinda vibe that proved to be the envy of Perth clubland. The original Limbo Dance Club is still highly revered & respected as the official home of Perth's underground house music community to this day.
Our debut Limbo Social Club reunion party-style event, the first of its kind for 13 long years, features four original Limbo Club DJs: Colin Clark, Dave Jackson (Direct from Melbourne), JJ, and Adil Bux, all playing in spirit and remembrance of Limbo's legendary resident DJ Roy 'The Boy' Jopson (RIP).
The usually quiet & unassuming DJ that Colin Clark is boasts an impressive career that includes his Limbo residency, The Firm residency alongside DJ Rhys Evans, Source Productions raves, headlining Perth's NRG & Elevation raves, plus the GOD & Dance Delerium dance party events. You can also throw in the mix guest spots at the Powerhouse, Soul Night Out and then resident DJ gigs in the North of England & Scotland through the 90s alongside the likes of Graeme Park, K-Klass & regular Saturday appearances at Leeds' halcyon Back2Basics Bar.
Our Interstate DJ Dave Jackson's highly prolific career since the early 90s includes headlining gigs and residencies at venues such as Limbo's, The Firm, Aqua, DCs, Metropolis, Geisha, and Connections. He's played alongside the likes of Sasha, Kanye West, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Jamiroquai, Grandmaster Flash, and oh so many more.
DJ Adil Bux also makes a star studded appearance as both a former resident DJ of Limbo's Dance Club & he's also responsible for staging the very first ever warehouse party in Perth WA 'Meltdown' in 1988. Adil is also a former host of the RTRFM 'Rhythm Fix' radio show.
Special guest DJs include the current global mix maverick deck technician - Greg Packer - a name originally synonymous with Perth's drum & bass, jungle & hardcore scene until his meteoric transformation to an alter ego of his birth initials GP to become DR Packer - the dynamic nu-disco & disco king of dancefloors everywhere today.
Rhys Evans of 'Monday Madness', The Infirmary, The Firm & RTRFMs 'Looney Tunes' show fame provides additional support.
Then Chase who most people will remember as the original resident DJ of Limbo's next door neighbour The Freezer Nightclub boosts our line-up. His DJ CV also includes co-ownership of Purveyor Records.
Influential Perth clubbing identity Paul 'JJ' Chate, commonly known as simply DJ JJ, also appears. JJ was not only an original resident DJ of Limbo's DC but he's also known & respected as a resident DJ of Aqua, Connections and a host of other Perth club and bar venues.
South London DJ Paul Clarke completes our line-up. Paul arrived on our shores in the late 80s on a mission to promote both soul & house music via groundbreaking radio shows on 6NR, 100FM & JJJ. He's spun a hot mix of the latest & greatest vinyl tunes from the UK/USA at iconic Perth venues such as Shaftos, The Aberdeen Hotel, CineCellars, Exit Nightclub & Network Dance Club. Paul is also renowned as a promoter of The Soul Alldayers, The Soul Nite Out, Groove Cruise's & of course he was the proprietor & promoter of the Buzz Bar & subsequent Buzz Bar Reunion parties.
Finally, a Live PA completes our DJ & Artiste roster featuring the soaring female vocals of WAAPA graduate Marnie Kent who'll be belting out a few classic Limbo DC anthems that you'll all know & love & be ready to move & groove to all night long.
As for our venue for the night, The Rechabite is only a stone's throw away from the former home of Limbo's and is an absolute pleasure palace of multi-levelled delight. Our event transpires over two levels including our main room, The Rechabite Hall, which has a industrial/factory feel to its space & includes two added 270° upper tiered balconies & an unbelievable loud, crisp, clean & twice as mean world leading German D & B sound system. Music in this room will include a smokin' mix of underground Chicago house tunes, Detroit & Belgian techno, lush Italo house grooves, Balearic beats, electric electro & the more crazier sounds of acid house & more.
We'll be adding visual projections & eye catching visual art that has to be seen to be believed.
Then we head upstairs to the venue's sublime open aired space, the Hello Rooftop Bar, which features loads of seating & a more relaxed vibe where we'll present a chilled-out mix of underground late 80s/early 90s Balearic & Ibiza style inspired grooves as the sun sets over the panoramic views of the Northbridge/city skyline.

The Rechabite is an accessible venue with wheelchair access & a lift is available from ground level to the Hello Rooftop Bar.
