Like Book Club, But For News
About this Event
The UNC System, like many other public universities around the country, is searching for ways to make college more affordable and accessible to more students. The latest proposal: three-year bachelor’s degrees.
UNC Greensboro, Winston-Salem State University, and many of the state’s other public universities have expressed interest in offering an accelerated path to certain degrees.
The Assembly and Scuppernong Books are hosting an “article club” event to discuss the digital magazine’s reporting on this potential new direction for higher education in our state.
Join The Assembly’s higher education reporters and our Greensboro team for a casual conversation about the challenges facing universities, the cost of college, and the future of our state and its workforce.
This will be a group discussion similar to a book club—but with a much shorter reading assignment!—so bring your questions and ideas about the future of higher education in North Carolina. This format is an experiment, but if it goes well, we’d love for this to be a recurring event.
