Cinema Under the Stars: LightyearJoin us at Birmingham’s Thinktank Science Museum for a cinema-style screening of Lightyear in our Planetarium.
This Pixar adventure follows Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear as he embarks on an epic journey through space, facing unexpected challenges and an army of robots led by the mysterious Zurg, all while trying to find his way home.
Film rating: PG
Before the screening be sure to arrive early to explore The Space Vault Exhibition, a new display showcasing one of the UK’s most extensive private collections of human spaceflight artefacts.
Highlights include:
Original mission checklists instrumental in the Apollo 13 rescue.
Commander Dave Scott’s actual umbilical suit connector.
Genuine lunar dust from the Apollo 15 mission.
Combining family-friendly cinema with real space history, this event offers a memorable and educational experience for all ages.

Lightyear was not created for full-dome projection. The film will be shown on our large cinema screen inside the planetarium dome.
Access to the Planetarium is via Level 0 (Main Entrance) of Thinktank Science Museum.
