From managing high-profile events and media moments to building powerful brand narratives, communications professionals in the sports and entertainment industries play a critical role in shaping public perception of these organizations and their stars.
Join the Public Relations Society of America Nashville chapter for “Lights, Camera, Communicate: Insight into Sports and Entertainment PR,” a panel discussion featuring communications professionals from the sports and entertainment industries.
In this conversation, panelists will share behind-the-scenes insight into their careers and discuss the unique challenges and opportunities that come with promoting athletes, artists, teams, productions, and live events.
Coffee and donuts will be provided and attendees can arrive early for networking and a photo opportunity in the space. Special thanks to the Nashville Predators for hosting this PRSA event at Bridgestone Arena.
About Our Speakers
Kate Guerra, VP of communications and corporate affairs for the Tennessee Titans
Kate Guerra serves as Vice President, Communications and Corporate Affairs for the Tennessee Titans. In her role, she oversees football and business media relations for the team and consults on strategic communications between the organization and its stakeholders.
From late 2021 to early 2024, Kate served as Vice President, Marketing and Communications, overseeing off-the-field media and public relations; social responsibility and volunteerism; fan engagement; cheer, mascot, and drumline entertainment; and the Titans’ website and mobile app. She joined the Titans in 2019 as Team Publicist.
A native of McAllen, Texas, Kate graduated from the University of Texas in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She moved to Indianapolis and received a Master of Arts in Sports Journalism from Indiana University at Indianapolis. She spent eight years working for INDYCAR, North America’s premier open-wheel racing series, leading the series’ race market and national media outreach.
Fount Lynch, SVP of publicity for Warner Records
While attending Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, Fount Lynch began his career as an intern in January 2001 working for Universal Music Group Nashville (UMG Nashville) in the label’s marketing/PR departments. Post graduation, the Fosterville, Tennessee native was hired as a publicist for MCA and Lost Highway Records just after graduation. Over time, UMG Nashville’s imprints changed, and Fount began to implement media campaigns across four record labels - Mercury, MCA, Capitol and EMI Nashville. In November 2014, Fount moved to Sony Music Nashville - home to Arista, Columbia and RCA Records Nashville – to be Vice President, Publicity for the label. After four and a half years with Sony Nashville, Fount left his post in August 2018 to join Red Light Management as an artist manager, as well as owning his own independent public relations company, LYNCH PR.
In June 2022 Fount began his current role as Senior Vice President, Publicity at Warner Records Nashville. He was included in Billboard Magazine’s inaugural POWER PUBLICISTS list in August 2023 and is a current member of the Country Music Association (CMA), Academy of Country Music (ACM), Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). At present Fount serves on the Ryan Seacrest Foundation Industry Advisor Board (2025-2027), the University of Tennessee College of Music Board of Visitors, and in the Leadership Music Class of 2026.
Abby Helper, manager of media relations for the Nashville Predators
Abby Helper is the Media Relations Manager with the Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena. In her role, she oversees off-ice communications efforts for the organization and works to amplify initiatives from the Preds, arena events, the Preds Foundation, Ford Ice Centers and F&M Bank Arena through TV appearances, articles and more. She also assists with hockey communications throughout the year. With the organization since 2019, Abby worked in office administration and community relations before her current position. Additionally, Abby is the president of the company's Employee Advisory Board, which works to create a fun and exciting workplace for all; she also serves on the Predators' GUIDER Board, the social impact arm of the organization. A lifelong Preds and hockey fan, Abby enjoys seeing the impact the organization can have in the community and using its platform to make Middle Tennessee a better place.
