For the first time in Chicago, the local film community is coming together for an immersive, hands-on exploration of inclusivity and craft on set.
Hosted by Last Looks Beauty, Women In Film Chicago (WIFC), and Camera Ambassador, this live demo invites Hair & Make-Up (HMU) artists, above- and below-the-line crew, and industry advocates to step into the world of styling afro-textured hair—not as spectators, but as active participants.
Born from Last Looks Beauty’s proven demo model and traveling overseas to Chicago’s film hub for the first time, this session pairs technical mastery with genuine community. You won't just watch a technique—you'll practice it on mannequins, ask questions in real time, and walk away with practical skills you can bring to set tomorrow.
Tickets for this event are donation based and 100% of what you give goes to Lights, Camera, Afro, the educational arm of Last Looks Beauty. The program puts inclusive hair and makeup masterclasses directly into schools, so the next generation of artists learns on every texture and every skin tone from day one.
