6th - 12th Grade
Meets on campus from 9am to 12pm, June 24 - 27
Led by Brian DeJong, a CMU engineering faculty member
Learn about electric motors, sensors, and lights by building your own automatic fans, moisture-sensing plant waterers, audio meter alerts, and screaming footballs or frisbees. You'll build fun contraptions out of everyday items and in doing so learn about DC, servo, and stepper motors, LEDs and sensors as well as voltage, current, and basic circuitry. Please keep in mind that student interest in the topic enhances not only their experience, but also that of their fellow campers.
If financial barriers would limit your participation, please email us at [email protected] to talk about how we can make our programs accessible for you.
