Lighting Unleashed: A Guide to Portraiture is a hands-on class designed to help photographers build confidence using both natural and artificial light. Whether you're photographing family, friends, clients, or creative portraits, you'll learn practical techniques you can apply immediately. During the class, we'll explore how different lighting conditions affect a portrait, how simple modifiers can dramatically improve your images, and how to create flattering light both indoors and outdoors.

Weather permitting, we'll spend time photographing models outside using available light. We'll also demonstrate a variety of lighting setups indoors so you can see exactly how each adjustment changes the final photograph.

This is a hands-on class with opportunities to photograph live models and experiment with different lighting techniques under instructor guidance. By the end of class, you'll have a better understanding of not just where to place the light, but why it works, giving you the confidence to create portraits in almost any environment.
