Lighting Basics is an introductory course that provides students with an insight into the fundamentals of lighting for live events, video, and livestreaming. This 4-week course will give an overview of color theory, basic lighting fixtures, and consoles laying the foundation for your exploration into lighting.
This class is a perfect intro class for those looking to break into theatrical lighting or audio technicians who find themselves running lighting in small venues.
Eligibility
Ages 16+ encouraged
No prior experience required!
This course lays the foundation for more advanced programs
Students must commit for a total of (at least) 4 hours of class time per week for 4 weeks to earn a Certificate of Attendance.
What you'll learn:
-Explore the fundamentals of lighting, including types of fixtures, color mixing, and DMX control.
-Get hands-on with Slim Pars, moving lights, foggers, and other industry-standard tools.
-Learn advanced techniques for creating dynamic lighting effects for concerts, theater, and events.
-Design and execute a small lighting show as part of your final project.
