About this Event

Lighthouse Comedy is back in business

The king of the borough Kevin Gildea hosts a night of comedy in the heart of DunLaoghaire.

Patrick McDonnell is our headliner. Patrick is an Irish actor and comedian. He has starred in the RTÉ hidden camera comedy show Naked Camera and the sketch show Stew. However he is probably best remembered at home and abroad for his role as Eoin McLove in the Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted.

Featured act on the night is Edwin Sammon. Edwin's unpredictable and immensely likeable style saw audiences award him the Tedfest Golden Toilet Duck in 2011 for best comedian. On TV screens he took over the news desk co-presenting and writing on Republic Of Telly and currently can be seen as Fr. Gabriel in the IFTA award-winning Bridget and Eamon which is now in its fourth series. The Offaly native has supported Jason Byrne, Fred Cooke and Ardal O'Hanlon on their nationwide tours and performed at every major festival and club in the country. In 2013 Edwin was part of the sold out, nationwide Lads Of Comedy tour. He debuted his first solo special - Edwin Sammon vs Cancer - last year which chronicled his battle with the disease in a heartfelt and honestly funny manner.

They are supported by Keego.

Keego is a bald man. Wandering through life wondering about things like 'what is the secret Victoria sells in her bra shops', 'what is the Irish kama sutra', 'what is snapchat really for' and what happens when role play in the bedroom...... goes very wrong.

Keego has been straddling every stage possible. Including the Word to the Wyse festival in Waterford,Culture night in Dublin, The Ballycotton Comedy Festival, The Westport Comedy Festival, The Burbank Comedy Festival and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as performing in Ireland's top venues and clubs such as The Craic Den, The Workmans, The Roisin Dubh, Whelans, The Button Factory, Trinity College, Coughlans, and Bow Lane Social Club. Keego has also gone international with 2 trips to The Hot Water Comedy Club in Liverpool, The Glee Club in Birmingham and The Pav and The Empire in Belfast.
