As the seasons shift and the days grow shorter, we approach the year’s darkest point. This is a natural time for reflection—a chance to turn inward, honor life’s challenges, and reconnect with the cycles of nature. While we won’t gather on the exact day and time of the Winter Solstice, this event is our way of honoring the longest night of the year -- a time to embrace stillness, recognize the beauty in darkness, and celebrate the return of the light.This gathering will, of course, be more than a dance—it’s an invitation to move freely, express yourself authentically, and connect with the energy of renewal. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or trying this for the first time, this space allows you to explore your inner world without judgment and share in the warmth of community.
Many of you have spoken to us, and offered your feedback and we are doing our best to listen, shift, and evolve towards a more sustainable model of community offering. The ongoing efforts to elevate our processes have already begun and will continue to be implemented at our dances as we move through the New Year. Thank you for being compassionately patient with us as we learn and grow in how to hold this community better.
In light of the feedback we have received we are experimenting with a "Pay-What-You-Can" style ticketing model on a new platform while removing the time/incentive ticket sales. We will also not be allowing any professional photography or videography to be present on the dance floor - for the time being - to ensure that the space feels contained and safe for everyone to show up no matter what. So, let us do just that and show up for each other - Inclusively, uninhibited without distraction, safely, and completely able to process the extent of our human experience. As well as express our desires for global peace & cosmic harmony through dance & community!

PARKING:
Entrance to the venue parking lot will be on the Northbound side of Northside Dr, SW. Turn right just before the over-pass onto the road and through a chain-link gate. You will be directed where to park your vehicle from this point (likely in a parking lot underneath the overpass).
CHECK-IN:
Will be in the main corridor entrance to the dance-space after entering the venue one you have parked your vehicle. Have your QR code ready for scanning to receive your wristband. All "PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN" ticket tiers will be for sale the day of the event and can be paid with cash, Venmo, CashApp, or credit/debit card, however we do recommend purchasing your tickets in advance at soldancemovement.com to reduce registration time at the event. Thank you!
WHAT WE DO:
Sol Dance is a free-form movement experience where all bodies are welcomed. We offer a gently guided sensory journey meant to be experienced in its entirety. The music is meticulously curated by Sol Dance Resident DJ & Co-Founder – Scott Houston – alongside talented guest DJs, percussionists & sound healers.You can expect a culturally-diverse blend of electronic and acoustic sounds, skillfully attuned to the energy of the group. Beginning with an opening meditation and moving into deeper, slower sounds, the bpm & energy peak in the middle, and are finally brought back down, closing with meditative sound healing and a gratitude circle. We invite you to gift yourself the complete experience from start to finish
EVENT GUIDELINES:
BE PRESENT - Please, no phones on the dance floor. We aim to have the dance space just for dancing. You may take consensual videos/photos outside the dance space.
BE CLEAR - We provide a substance-free experience. No drugs or alcohol in the event space.
BE CONSENSUAL - We request consent: Please get permission before involving others in your dance, or in your pictures & videos.
REMINDERS:
- Bring your own FULL water bottle to stay hydrated during the dance!
- Purchase tickets in advance at soldancemovement.com to reduce registration time at the event.
- Pick up any trash you see on the ground before you leave.
- Tickets are non-refundable or transferable to future events.
