To kick off the 2024 holiday season, Light Up Charlestown takes place on Friday, Nov. 29, at Greenway Park, starting at 5 p.m. Gather for sounds of holiday music and the flipping of the light switch at 6 p.m. From that moment forward, the City of Charlestown will glow with lights and Christmas cheer at Greenway Park, the City Square and the Family Activities Park.Performance Schedule:
Drake Dance Academy – 5:00-5:15
Pleasant Ridge Elementary Choir – 5:15-5:30
Charlestown Middle School Choir – 5:40-5:55
Melissa Stewart, honorary light switcher – 6:00

The city’s central park will glow with Hallmark-card worthy lights, including from the 55-foot tree. Visitors can enjoy a stroll through the paved park, passing through covered bridges.
The Greenway Park concession stand will be open during the Light Up event along with food trucks – Mar Concessions, Dock Seafood, and Donut NV.

The Winter Holiday Market features vendors selling holiday décor, gift items, hand-made crafts, and more. Plus, visit Santa! (A full schedule of Santa, the Grinch and Buddy the Elf/Jovie visits is online at www.CharlestownParks.com)
Rides on The Charlestown Express return along with an opportunity to play mini-golf in a festive environment. Train rides are $8 and mini golf are $5 per person, ages 2 and up. Tickets are sold on site at the admission window.
The Depot Cafe will be serving signature coffee and tea options!

The animated lights show at the Charlestown City Square takes place nightly until Jan. 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. Tune in to 87.9 FM to hear the music synced to the light show!
