Light the Way! Cyanotype Workshop with Sarah Garrod

Join us for a creative workshop led by local artist Sarah Garrod, throughout the workshop Sarah will be showing participants how to create beautiful blueprints of plants that will be incorporated into a light installation (Nature Through a New Lens) for the Festival ‘Light the Way’. The workshop will take place at The Sociable Moorings Club at Arnott Close in Thamesmead. Using the Cyanotype process that dates back to the 1800’s, and a mixture of daylight and UV lamps, participants will produce striking plant silhouettes on paper.

Participants will be able to collect their prints after 1 week.

Nature through a New Lens is a community led piece. A series of spherical vistas spotlighting the biodiversity of the area through the cyanotype process.

Suitable for ages 12+ (12-16) should be accompanied by an adult.
