About this Event

Saturday April 28th from 8am-5:15pm

One Day Review Course--You must have your Red Cross Lifeguard certification current

Please be prepared to show the instructor first thing on arrival your current certification.

We suggest watching class review videos and do exercises online and in the pool in the days leading up to class to prepare well for our intensive day.

Important note:

Registration for this course does not guarantee a Lifeguard Certification. Participants must pass the pre-requisite swim tests listed above as well as pass the exams (80% or higher) and CPR and water scenarios.

Prerequisites

  • 17 years old by the last day of the class
  • Possessing current Lifeguard certiifcations through Red Cross
  • Passing 3 Swim Tests as per Red Cross requirements at the beginning of class.
  1. Swim 300 yards breaststroke AND freestyle (example: 12 lengths of a standard 25-yard public pool) demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing without stopping, not timed.
  2. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
  3. A timed weight-retrieval drill (the Brick) where you swim 20 yards, do a surface dive to a 10-pound weight in 7-10 feet deep water, surface and swim on your back with the object 20 yards, exit the water without using a ladder or steps. The time limit is 1 minute and 40 seconds. This is an easy time interval for the normal swimmer.

Please note: Course tuition fees are not refundable for not passing the swim pre-tests. We always suggest to get in and practice prior to the training, until you are confident you will pass.
