Life Writing Workshop - Everyday Objects (IN ORCHARD SQ AND ONLINE)

Please note: This workshop will be run in the Writers Workshop in Orchard Square, Sheffield, and also online on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.

In this session, we'll be writing about the contents of your cutlery drawer, your favourite hairbrush, quirky objects you inherited from your family, second hand bargains, bits of broken pottery and household flotsam and jetsam. Do you have an ancient biscuit tin holding your buttons, or a vintage margarine carton hoarding rusty nails? What's the story behind the spoon you use to make your tea or the bowl that holds your cereal? This workshop will be a deep dive into the every day and the stories that they stir up!

Using a series of prompts and exercises intended to spark your creativity, you'll come away with pieces of writing about the little things in life that you can develop, or just enjoy the process of using words to bring memories to life.

The session will be fun, interactive, and sensitive to everyone's needs.

Led by writer Anne Grange of The Writers Workshop, an experienced writer, editor and workshop leader.

Please bring along a small but treasured household item with a story behind it.
