Workshop Overview:

Dive into your personal story through the Life Journey Mandala workshop at The Monastery, presented by The Rosemary Tree. From birth to the imagined future, explore the symbolic and therapeutic process of mandala-making. Learn how each segment of your circle represents a different life stage, moving clockwise like the passage of time. Using color, symbols, and imagery, participants will reflect on key moments, transitions, and dreams. Your mandala will become a visual timeline of personal growth, identity, transformation, and future hope.

In this workshop, you will:

• Reflect on and journal 8 key stages of your life (such as childhood, adulthood, or future aspirations).
• Write a word or brief description of each stage.
• Design a mandala that symbolizes these stages, creating a powerful visualization of your personal evolution.

Whether you are at a moment of transition, seeking self-reflection, or simply curious about experiencing the healing power of creativity, the Life Journey Mandala workshop provides a safe space for all to reflect and create. No prior artistic experience is necessary—just an open mind and heart.

Instructor Background:

Danielle Heyer, an intern in the Licensed Professional Counseling program at Ottawa University, leads this workshop with a focus on Expressive Art Therapy. Danielle is passionate about guiding individuals through creative processes that promote self-awareness, healing, and emotional resilience. Using techniques from a variety of therapeutic approaches—including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensorimotor Therapy, and Attachment Therapy—she helps people navigate personal challenges, build emotional strength, and deepen their connection to themselves.

Through the Life Journey Mandala workshop, Danielle offers a compassionate and supportive space for participants to connect with their inner selves and express their experiences through the art of mandala-making.

The Rosemary Tree Creative Therapy:

Our Expressive Arts Workshops are through a partnership with The Rosemary Tree, a holistic counseling practice integrating wellness and whole-person care. The Rosemary Tree is dedicated to transforming how therapy is experienced for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Their innovative approach integrates creative modalities into evidence-based practices, making each session something you can anticipate with a sense of curiosity and hope.
