Elena (‘Lena’) is a psychologist and specialist in body-oriented practices who moved to Wilmington from Moscow in 2022. ‘Lena’ specializes in dance movement therapy or ‘Life Energy Dance’ and has taught and conducted international teacher trainings for the past 20 years through the school she opened in Moscow called Impression Lab.
This style of movement therapy is a combination of yoga dance sequencing and body awareness to access and open up each of the chakras. Expressing emotions through movement helps to align and reconfigure both physical health and the emotional part of our psyche.
Each class consists of a playful dance warm-up, a short self-awareness exercise meditation and movements focused on each chakra center to help participants connect with a harmonious version of themselves. International and eclectic music is very much part of the Life Energy Dance experience so you should expect to be uplifited in a myriad of body centered ways while beginning the important work of tapping into and releasing trapped emotions. No special skills are required from participants. It is enough to have the desire to move and have curiosity about your own internal processes.
