Our untutored classes suit all levels. We welcome people of differing ages and backgrounds to attend on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 7pm to 9pm. We charge $20 per class. This includes free-to-use drawing materials and paper supplies. You are welcome to BYO food and drinks. Please ensure that you arrive on time as our class commences at 7:00pm sharp. The gallery opens 30 minutes before each class. Feel free to come in for a chat.
We take our annual summer break from 1 December 2022 until 15 January 2023. Life Drawing resumes on 16 January 2023.
Missing Persons is a Covid-safe venue. We have reduced our class size to 30 people per session to ensure that social distancing is possible.
As of April 2022, it is no longer mandatory in Victoria to check-in using the Services Victoria app, show your vaccination status or wear a face mask during the sessions. If you feel unwell, please think of others and stay at home.
If you have a ticket and cannot attend, please let us know immediately. An exchange or refund will be issued if you request it (via email only) before 1:00pm on the day of your booked class.

If your cancellation is last-minute or sent via social media we will not exchange or refund your ticket. The best thing to do is gift it to a colleague or friend.

Louise (Lou) Klerks started this class in 2008. In the early years, she held the weekly sessions at No Vacancy Gallery and occassionally at 1000 Pound Bend. In 2016 Lou moved her class to the Nicholas Building where she established Missing Persons, a multi-arts space. For over a decade, she has taken great pleasure in facilitating the classes. Lou believes that her life drawing classes are a great place to meet like-minded people, build connections in the Melbourne arts community, and benefit from a sense of social wellbeing. Lou is proud to work with a range of highly skilled and professional life models who are central to this small operation. In addition to running the classes, she works as an exhibition curator and vinyl DJ. You can find more from Lou here.
Do I need to book? At this point in time, we are only taking online bookings. Purchase a class ticket via Eventbrite. You're on the right page.
How much is the class? We have casual classes for $20. This cost includes the use of our art materials, butcher paper and drawing boards.
What do I need to bring? Gold coins if you fancy a glass of wine by donation. BYO is fine too! We provide drawing materials, boards and paper (this is included in the price of your ticket).
I’ve never drawn before, is this going to be an issue? Our classes are structured but untutored. Give it a go. No judgement here.

I purchased a ticket and I cannot attend, what do I do? We are more than happy to refund and exchange tickets if we receive an email request from you by 1:00pm on the day of your booked class. Scroll up to the section about 'Tickets, Exchanges, Refunds' to learn more.
