Liefde op de Grachten - 30 Jaar Canal Parade

 Amsterdam and its canals have been a symbol of freedom, community and individuality for centuries. This summer, they will once again take centre stage when the Grachtenmuseum Amsterdam presents the exhibition Love on the Canals – 30 Years of the Canal Parade to mark WorldPride 2026. The exhibition shows how the Canal Parade grew from a local initiative into an international symbol of visibility and inclusion — a celebration of exuberance, but also a vehicle for urgency, remembrance and solidarity. The 30th anniversary is a special moment to reflect on the impact of Pride on Amsterdam, its residents and visitors. Love on the Canals – 30 Years of the Canal Parade opens on Thursday 2 July and runs until Tuesday 27 September 2026, forming part of the official cultural programme of WorldPride 2026. Featuring unique historical photographs, personal stories and the artworks of Yamuna Forzani, the exhibition demonstrates how Pride is simultaneously a celebration, a protest and a cultural heritage.
