Learning to turn a lidded box is the next progression in your development as a woodturner. Incorporating the skills of both spindle and bowl turning you will have the chance to design and create this keepsake item. A higher level of patience and precision is required and will challenge the intermediate turner. Mastering these skills will allow for future lidded projects of a variety of shapes and sizes and lends itself to an additional project like salt and peppermills. Intermediate woodturners are welcome in this class. Previous turning experience is required; we recommend taking our “Bowl Turning with Carbide Tools” Class prior to enrolling in this one. This is a comprehensive 5.5 hour class with a 30 minute lunch break. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions Apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases. Each student should carefully consider their health and reaction to products around them when signing up for this or any of the Rockler woodworking classes. Considering a 1-on-1 private Instruction?
