LIBERTÉ! --- A French Revolution TTRPG/DnD Game
About this Event
LIBERTÉ! — A FRENCH REVOLUTION TTRPG/DnD SESSION !!!!! ⚔️ ♡
ever wanted to overthrow the monarchy? participate in a revolution? wear an extremely elaborate outfit and get involved in some 18th-century political intrigue????? ............. WELL!!!!!!!
we're very, very excited to be bringing you something a little different at Asylum: an EIGHT-SESSION historical roleplaying experience set during the FRENCH REVOLUTION, led by Rosa, a dungeon master with a decade of experience. <3
part history class, part TTRPG, part costume-making workshop, part collaborative storytelling experiment. you'll create a character, learn about the world they inhabit, and navigate the politics, drama, and chaos of revolutionary France alongside a whole room of other people.
we'll be working from Reacting to the Past: Roleplaying the French Revolution, exploring history through the people, arguments, allegiances, and decisions that shaped it.
there'll be roleplaying, character development, historical research, costume making, political intrigue, and plenty of opportunities to get a little too invested in the fate of the French aristocracy.
simple snacks and drinks will be provided at every session and are included in the price. so you can spend your sunday afternoons plotting the downfall of the monarchy while having a little something to eat. as one should.
you absolutely DO NOT need to be a seasoned D&D player to participate. if you've ever been vaguely interested in tabletop games, historical reenactment, theater, costuming, or just the idea of spending an afternoon pretending to be somebody else in revolutionary France, this is for you.
we're especially excited about the large-group format! rather than sitting around a table with four or five people, you'll be part of a whole community of characters whose decisions, relationships, and allegiances help shape the experience.
a little historical education, a little collective worldbuilding, a little queer theater kid energy. what more could you want????
HUUUUGE thank you to Rosa for the extraordinary amount of thought, research, and work going into this project!!! we're so excited to have someone with so much experience bringing such an ambitious and accessible roleplaying experience to the space. ♡
