Liberated Voices: Rebellious Hearts Book Event

Come join us at The Movement for an afternoon of liberation, hosted by the founder of 5 Shorts Project, Shameka Sawyer!

You will get to speak directly with the author of Rebellious Hearts, Dwayne "Bim" Staats, calling in from Delaware state Pr*son. You will also hear from Jarreau "Ruk" Ayers, the author of the upcoming second Rebellious Hearts book, calling in from Pennsylvania state Pr*son. These two men, authors, fathers, and pro-se litigators have been targeted by the state for their alleged involvement in the 2017 uprising at the James T. Vaughn supermax Pr*son in Delaware.

Shaykh Ali, a movement elder who returned home last year after serving 46 years in Pr*son, will share his stories of liberation and resilience.

We will feature a performance from artist and organizer Day One Not Day Two, who will also speak about ways to get involved in youth justice.
