LIAS Cafe at Glenfield

Whether you are an interdisciplinary expert or just want to see what it is all about, we warmly welcome colleagues of all career stages to join us at the Leicester Institute for Advanced Studies in meeting new and familiar faces over a cup of coffee. Aimed to energise colleagues into interdisciplinary research, informal drop-in sessions will run both virtually and face to face and provide opportunities to chat, ask questions and meet academics across the University.

Throughout the year LIAS run cafes both virtually and face to face to optimise opportunities to meet and greet colleagues across the University and beyond. This in-person session is being hosted at the Thakrar room, Glenfield, Leicester to build networks between colleagues who are now based there, and to find out more about the work taking place.

The Leicester Institute for Advanced Studies is an interdisciplinary centre of excellence. Dedicated to creating a collaborative and inspiring environment, it brings together researchers from across all disciplines to deliver ambitious, transformative, and impactful research.

This initiative is intended to help break down the silos that have traditionally been a feature of higher education research. It represents a step change in our approach, allowing academics to be even more innovative and to bid for more ambitious research funding in the future.
