LGT Clinical Academy - Academic Skills (Set 1)

University Hospital Lewisham - Lime Room (11:00-12:00)

The LGT Clinical Academy presents new transformative mini academic skill sessions to help improve your essay writing, critical thinking, referencing and a whole host of other transferable skills. There are currently 1 Skill sets on offer, with more in development. This session is skill set 1 only.

Skill set 1:

In this session, you can expect that we will address:

• What academic writing is
• Why we need to engage in academic writing as healthcare professionals (HCPs)
• How to make a start on an essay
• Tips on writing and structure
• An overview of critical anaylsis
• Ethical use of Artifical Intellegence (AI)
• Referencing

It will be beneficial to you if you are able to bring to the session:

• A smart phone
• A notebook
• A pen

These academic skills sessions are aimed at staff undertaking courses at the LGT Clinical Academy. However, if you wish to attend, but are not on a current course, please email [email protected] before booking on eventbrite with the subject line heading - Academic Skills (Eventbrite).
