Let's Get LGBTQMindful
About this Event

Are you looking to connect on a deeper level with yourself and others?

This mindfulness group is an antidote for those looking for a community where we can connect in meaningful ways, empower ourselves through self-discovery/self-growth, and explore mindfulness together as a community. This is a safe space to share yourself within a community of open-minded individuals with live meditation, personal prompt exercises for inner growth, and authentic relating.

Who should join this group?

Any member of the LGBTQ community looking for a safe space to be vulnerable, authentic with who they are, learn more about mindfulness techniques and spirituality, and meet people with similar values and goals.

What will we do at the events?

We will start with a group exercise where we introduce each other to get comfortable with one another. Then, we will introduce a topic for authentic relating and group discussion. Finally, we will end the session with an integrative sound bowl healing meditation.

What should you bring?

A journal and something to write with.

Love, Vulnerability, and Authenticity.

Bring yourself, a partner, or a friend.

Who is Alex Castro?

Alexandra Castro is a passionate mindfulness coach who values authentic connection, personal growth, and open and safe communication. She believes that we are on this earth to come soul-to-soul and help each other become the most authentic version of ourselves. In addition, she is a firm believer that the quality of our life depends on the quality of our relationships – and most importantly, the ones we have with ourselves.

In her early twenties, Alexandra was haunted by a feeling of emptiness, a void she knew she needed to fill. She was living in fear, not being truthful to herself about her sexuality, and abandoning her authentic self. Then, after falling in love with a mindful woman who opened the doors to the world of spirituality, the healing started. She began to peel back the layers of conditioning from society, religion, and her family and reunite with the soul of who she truly is. The void was finally filling.

Her healing journey taught her new ways of thinking and being in the world. She acknowledges that personal growth is a daily practice and emphasizes the importance of progress, not perfection. Through spirituality and mindful practice, Alexandra feels a deeper connection with humanity, the earth, and a desire to connect with her community.

She serves the queer community, who have been generally underrepresented in the mindfulness space, offering a safe space to heal and connect. Her purpose is to incorporate mindfulness into the LGBTQ community and help individuals live a more fulfilled life by connecting deeply with who they are and enhance their mental wellness through mindfulness and connection.

Alexandra now leads a mindfulness group called LGBTQMindfulness and has started a mindfulness movement in the LGBTQ community. She is able to create different environments where the LGBQT community can authentically connect with one another.
