LGBTQI+ at Strathclyde: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration

Welcome to the LGBTQI+ at Strathclyde: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration event on Wednesday 20 November 2024 at the Stenhouse Wing of Strathclyde Business School (livestream available). This event is for Strathclyde students and staff as well as members of the public.

Join us to celebrate the diverse histories and achievements of LGBTQI+ people at Strathclyde and the local Glasgow area as we commemorate our Diamond Jubilee year. Enjoy engaging panel discussions and presentations, learn about LGBTQI+ histories in the University's Archives and Special Collections, connect with community at Strathclyde and local organisations, and get involved in contributing to the archives of the future. Let's come together to honour our past, celebrate our present, and imagine LGBTQI+ futures!

Light refreshments will be provided upon arrival, followed by a drinks reception towards the end of the event. A full event programme will be provided to attendees.

Accessibility information

The venue has level and lift access throughout, via a ramp from street level. A wheelchair accessible and gender neutral toilet is available in the main venue, and a full Changing Places facility is available nearby in Strathclyde Sport. Further accessibility information is available in the venue's AccessAble guide. The venue is mechanically ventillated and masks will be made available to attendees. A designated quiet space will be available to attendees. Exhibited archive materials will be made available with alt text descriptions. Please note: Parts of the campus are very steep - if you require access without steep inclines, please approach the venue by travelling on Cathedral Street rather than travelling through the campus from George Street.
