Join Equality Virginia and LGBTQ+ advocates from across the Commonwealth for LGBTQ+ Lobby Day 2026 at the Virginia General Assembly! This is a powerful opportunity to make your voice heard, build community, and directly advocate for policies that protect and advance LGBTQ+ equality in Virginia.Whether you're a seasoned advocate or attending Lobby Day for the first time, we'll make sure you're prepared and supported every step of the way.
What to Expect
Advocacy Training: Learn the basics of lobbying, the effective storytelling, and how to speak with lawmakers about LGBTQ+ issues.
Legislative Briefings: Get the latest updates on priority bills and budget amendments impacting LGBTQ+ Virginians, including constitutional amendments to secure the freedom to marry and legislation to fund and expand access to trans health care.
Meetings with Lawmakers: Participants will meet directly with Delegates and Senators to share personal stories and advocate for equality-focused legislation.
Community & Visibility: Show up proudly! Participants can purchase Freedom to Marry and Trans Rights t-shirts and tote bags to wear and use while lobbying.

Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (check-in begins promptly at 8:00 AM)

No prior lobbying experience is required—just a commitment to standing up for LGBTQ+ Virginians. Together, we can ensure our lawmakers hear directly from the people most impacted by their decisions.
