Join us for this new FREE bi-weekly ELECTION SEASON SURVIAL SERIES support group meeting open to folks high school and older who are LGBTQ+ or allies in Westford & surrounding towns. Each meeting will feature topic or issue tied to strategies to cope with political stress. Meetings typically begin with a speaker and are followed by Q&A or open discussion.

On November 21, join us for a heartfelt and empowering session titled Coming Out Stories Revisited. This gathering is a safe space for individuals to share and reflect on their personal journeys of coming out, whether they are part of the LGBTQ+ community or allies seeking to understand these experiences better. Coming out is a deeply personal process that can evoke a range of emotions, from joy and relief to fear and uncertainty. In this supportive environment, we will honor the diverse narratives that shape our identities and explore the significance of sharing these stories.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their own coming out experiences, the challenges they faced, and the triumphs they celebrated. We will also delve into the evolving nature of coming out in today’s society, recognizing that it can look different for everyone and may continue throughout one’s life. This session aims to foster empathy and connection, allowing individuals to learn from one another and appreciate the courage it takes to live authentically.
Together, we will discuss the importance of creating supportive networks for those who are navigating their own coming out journeys, as well as how allies can provide meaningful support. By sharing our stories, we can break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and promote understanding within our communities. Join us as we celebrate the power of authenticity and the strength found in our shared experiences, reinforcing our commitment to acceptance and love for all.

There is an exceptional amount of stress on LGBTQ+ and non-gender-conforming folks of all ages right now with state legislation being passed and the presidential campaign platforms (particularly the Trump platform) targeting our community and promising loss of rights in addition to punitive legislation.

During these sessions, it will be our intention to allow folks to express feelings around election concerns but to avoid getting involved in discussions on details regarding election topics as they are triggering for many. We will talk about practical and actionable strategies for self-care and self-preservation.
