About this Event

Catalyst Foundation's "LGBTIQA+ Toward a Safe Place" (TASP) workshop is for health and community workers and those working in the FDV space. It will equip participants with information and skills to better support LGBTIQA+ people who are experiencing domestic and/or family violence.

This workshop aims to:
  • increase understanding of LGBTIQA+ people's experiences of family and domestic violence, it's prevalance, patterns and impacts
  • increase understanding of the structural barriers facing LGBTIQA+ people and how this impacts on their ability to seek and receive support
  • assist individuals to think through how they can make their workplaces and services more aware and responsive to the needs of LGBTIQA+ clients/staff/visitors, including those experiencing family and/or domestic violence.

Testimonials:

"The team at Catalyst were professional, responsive, and adaptive to our agencies’ needs for undertaking the workshop. Thomas was an enthusiastic presenter who provided our staff with easy-to-follow explanations and personal anecdotes. This made the training a relatable and relaxed experience for staff where they felt comfortable asking questions and engaging with the content."
Maddalena Cooper

"The training on LGBTIQA Awareness and Understanding was very well presented. Thomas was clearly very knowledgeable on the subject and presented in an engaging clear way. Thomas was responsive to our needs as an organisation and tailored his delivery to meet the needs of our lecturers. He was able to provide a great insight into the world of some of our more traumatised student cohort with clarity and supportive strategies for lecturers in the classroom."
