Noel Booth Community Park and Brookswood Pond Leader: Nora Truman
Time: 9:00am at 20302 – 36th Avenue (at the intersection of 204th Street and 36th avenue)
Join Nora for a leisurely walk along the trail past Noel Booth Park and around Brookswood Pond. Douglas Fir and western Red Cedar shade the path where a variety of birds and animals can be found. The area also has Red Alder and Black Poplar (Cottonwood) and is fringed by Hardhack and Salmonberry bushes. Deer and Coyotes live here and in the pond Carp, Brown Catfish and Pumpkinseed can be seen. This is not a long walk so if the weather is clear we can drive east on 36th Avenue to the parking lot just west of 208th Street for Dale Ball Passive Park where there is a large pond with waterfowl and a trail that circles the pond and heads uphill to the forest above before continuing south and back to the starting point at the bottom of a steep hill. Challenged walkers can take the lower trail back to the parking lot.
