Letters to Joy: A Beginner's Epistolary Writing Workshop
About this Event
With summer comes hope and with hope comes joy. In this generative creative-nonfiction writing workshop, writers are given prompts to write letters to the experience of joy. The joy they address in their letters can be a memory, something they are looking forward to, a smell, a taste, anything that is giving them hope in that moment. No experience is required. This is a pay what you can event, with a suggested donation of $10.
This workshop is developed and run by Alya Somar. Alya Somar is a Guyanese-Canadian writer from Mississauga, Ontario. She holds an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing and Publishing from Sheridan College, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. As a creative writing workshop facilitator and writer published in The Ampersand Review, Two Times Removed: An Anthology of Indo-Caribbean Fiction and more, she’s looking forward to whatever's next.
