Join artist-designer Adrian Riley in creating your own text art prints responding to artworks in the Ferens Gallery. Using decommissioned wooden letterpress blocks, you’ll be guided in creating descriptive phrases (in English, and imagining completely new sound-words to communicate what you experience) and hand-printing them to create unique word-based art.
Adrian is an artist-designer using words in the world on a variety of scales, from small printed artworks to large public art commissions. These have included a 35 metre long text artwork carved into the paving outside Grimsby Minster, a collaborative half-mile long walkable poem at Sutton Bank in the North York Moors National Park, and being ‘Eavesdropper In Residence’ at Grimsby Top Town Market.
All resources are provided This event takes place from 10:15am - 3:45pm. There will be a break for lunch.
Cost £69 (includes £4 booking fee)
